The Felt Industry is one of NLT's Income Generation Projects.
This project employs disadvantaged and marginalized women, who produce various designs of high quality felt products in NLT's sheltered workshop in Kathmandu. Wool fibers are entwined by being scrubbed with soap and result in a very soft felt material.
Workers of the Industry sheltered workshop move towards a greater economic, social and psychological inclusion.
At present there are 6 regular workers able to make felt bags, shoes, balls, mats, pen case etc. Buying these products you not only support fair trade but also contribute to fight against the exclusion of most disadvantaged persons in Nepal.
